DATA ALERT: CSHCN Status is determined using a validated instrument for identification of children with special health care needs as defined by the federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau. The type of special need is determined by regrouping qualified children into mutually exclusive categories based on complexity of need. The majority of measures have missing values less than 2% (unweighted). This measure has >=2% of missing cases.
