DATA ALERT:
CSHCN with less complex needs based on the CSHCN Screener: Children in this group experience chronic health conditions that are managed primarily through prescription medication – often quite successfully as long as they have access to medical care and needed medication.
CSHCN with more complex needs based on the CSHCN Screener: Children in this group qualify on one or more of the four screening criteria addressing elevated need or use of specialized services, therapies, or functional limitations. These children may need or use prescription medications, but also meet one of the four other CSHCN Screener criteria.
