Browse NHIS-CAM Data

The Data Resource Center (DRC) website provides hands-on online user-friendly interactive data query on prevalence of CAM use, use of CAM types, by children’s conditions and health status, conventional health care utilization, cost and insurance coverage, reasons and benefits of CAM use and sources of information from the 2012 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Supplement. The data query allows users to compare national and US census region findings for children of different ages, race/ethnicity, income levels, health status and health care use.

The estimates on the DRC data query are weighted to be representative of the population of children ages 4-17 years nationally. Total of 10,218 sample children representing 57.8 million US children ages 4-17 years old were interviewed in the 2012 NHIS Child CAM Supplement.

Depending on your data goals, you can access NHIS CAM Survey data in a variety of ways.
