With the release of data from the 2009/10 National Survey of Children with Special Health Care Needs, data trends are available to compare any indicators from 2001, 2005/06 and 2009/10 that were repeated across multiple years.
In order to compare data across multiple years, the question and response options must be identical. Changes in the overall content of the question, the specific wording of the question or response options can result in changes in overall prevalence and interpretation of the survey item; therefore, comparison across survey years is not available for all 6 MCHB Core Outcomes and 15 Key Indicators.
Direct links to the MCHB Core Outcomes and Key Indicators from the NS-CSHCN that can be trended across survey years are available below. Indicators from the NSCH will also be available in the future for trending across 2003 and 2007. Additional trending items, including indicators, demographics and additional measures will be available Summer 2012.
